No, you are not responsible - unless you sign the form that says you will be. The hospital has to have someone to contact in case of emergencies - evacuations, sudden changes, etc.

Most likely, something on that paperwork says you're going to guarantee the bill. Not all of it, though.

You need to READ it, not just sign blindly. Read the sections you need to read, and do not sign the parts that say you will be responsible for any costs incurred, or any uninsured costs, etc. If you do not understand a secton, have them explain it to you.

if you do not know dont sign, if you cant understand the what it says or means, dont sign. even if they say its nothing. if it is nothing then why do they want you to sign it.no one can be trusted. give them your contact info., if you dont sign. anything given to you verbally , has no legal value.zero
