I am 15 and l work at Dairy Queen. l slipped and fell on a wet floor today while holding a cup of open soda. l fell right on my tailbone and soda fell all over me and my hair was totally drenched. The manager told me to go ahead and take the rest of the day off, four hours before l was scheduled to leave. Do l get reimbursed for those hours?

l doubt it. But if you are hurt and want money out of this situation, you need to go to the emergency room, hire a lawyer and sue ! !

l would say yes, but l do not have any knowledge of the labor laws in your state.
l would recommend calling your state is labor department and asking them. That is what they are there for.

Did they send you to a Workman is comp doctor. they should nave.for your benefit and to protect themselves. if you have an injury, you need to receive proper care and they are required to provide it.and to protect themselves from lawsuit. if they have sick time benefits for employees, you should get paid for your missed time. if you are a part time employee without benefits, then , no.

seems to me he or she would gladly pay you for the rest of the day to avoid a possible lawsuit.do not sign anything that state is that you are ok without seeing a doctor.

Any fall at work should be followed up by a worker is compensation report, filed by ur employer. Unless they do not have the proper insurance (which is not legal) they will have to report ur fall & they will be required to send u to a doctor at their expense. But do not wait for them. See ur own doctor without waiting, because if the fall caused u injury that is not apparent yet, u will have record of the diagnosis & treatment, & u will need this when filing a worker is comp claim. Otherwise, do not expect a dime to come to you. Paying u for the rest of the day off is solely at the discretion of the employer & depends on ur labor laws.
You end up screwed if the injury leads to other problems & u do not follow the proper work related injury steps.

no of course not but you can make a claim for workers comp, and do it asap, if you want and feel it necessary

Most likely not.
It sounds like u were allowed to go home early because u were covered in soda & they were slow enough that they did not need u there.
The alternaive would have been to spend the rest of the day working with ur hair covered in sticky soda. Yuck. l know l would much rather have gotten home & gotten a shower.
If u need the hours - see if ur manager is willing to give u some overtime on another day to make it up.
Good to know u were not hurt.
