As long as he is under a group health plan sponored by an employer, once he is elig he should get credible coverage credit for being under your plan. Check the rules of Hippa, the insurance portability act.

What Fred said. Group insurance can not underwrite individually - they have to take all comers. As long as any lapse in coverage between two plans is less than 63 days, they can not exclude any preexisting conditions.

Generally as long as ur husband has maintained continuous coverage for the 6-12 months prior to beginning coverage on the group plan then the employer cannot exclude coverage for pre-existing conditions.

If u think that the group plan may not work out then u will want to investigate & determine whether u r eligible for a HIPAA health insurance plan that is guaranteed issue & covers all pre-existing conditions.
