l am looking to find a job with a insurance company. Currently all the info l have about some of them seems to be jumbled up. l was thinking Allstate, State Farm, Farmers, Nationwide ect. l am wondering if anyone knows of a insurance company with a hourly wage and maybe with some sort of comission. Any information l could would be greatly appreaciated.

If u want an hourly wage, but work in insurance, contact a local independent multi-line agency, & maybe they will hire you.

Now do u want an hourly wage, or commission?

You can apply to an insurance company, like Met Life, New York Life, Monumental Life, Western-Southern, American National, American General, & others (Not in any particular order), & they will pay u a guaranteed starting salary during ur initial training period. After that, u go on commission, service fees, & renewals.

To start with Allstate, u have to have money to get started. With Nationwide & State Farm, u will probably have to start in an agency as an associate agent. They normally pay a salary plus bonus, or commission & renewals.

l am with AIG (look for the Empire State building in NY or Manchaster United). They offer both monthly salary & commission only advisers. What kind of insurance r u intending to sell? Life, general, group, commercial, etc.
Monthly wage advisers get a much lower percentage of the premium paid by ur customers & have less incentives (eg. conventions, bonus, flexibility). The company will require u to be in office 9-5 daily & if u can not perform in 3 months, u get the sack.
l would recommend commission only jobs, because it offers flexibility & u r ur own boss.

For commision based insurance jobs do you still sit in a office and wait for clients? Or are all comission based jobs based on your own efforts of finding clients? How much does it take to start with Allstate and how do they work?
