l never had a 2dr vehicle before,
so l wonder if the 2dr rabbit will cost more in insurance than a 4 dr.

It depends on the insurance companies. Not all companies charge the same rates for the same vehicles. Check with your current agent first. If you are not happy with the rate, then shop around.
As a general rule though, 2 door cars can cost slightly more to insure than their 4 door counterparts.
